How should I care for my window coverings?

Caring for your window coverings will largely depend on the type of material they are made from.

If you have curtains the best thing to do is to adhere to the care instructions. If these instructions allow machine washing, make sure you remove all hooks, weights and metals prior to putting the curtains in the wash. You should use a mild detergent and a gentle spin cycle, and finish with line drying in the shade.

For blinds or shutters that have become dirty, we recommend wiping them with a damp cloth.
